Hello Dear Ones:

Dearest [FIRST NAME GOES HERE],

🌈I am completely taken by Dr. Kelly Brogan’s new book, Own Your Self. She is a psychiatrist and a healer who has stopped writing prescriptions. She writes about the process of coming home to yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈 Here’s what she says:

❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈 “Your journey begins when you submit to the reality of your circumstances, look at them and say, okay. You accept and surrender, raise the white flag, and stop fighting. Healing is a process of reunion with your body, your soul, and your environment. Resistance, and specifically a victim mindset, will just perpetuate the experience of sickness.” p.XIV⠀

❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈 Being a fighter has always been my fallback position. I am learning to surrender. I am learning, ask Dr. Kelly Brogan prescribes, to Surrender to Change. Then, and only then, 🌈 I will have reclaimed the power to heal myself.

❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈 One thing I have learned throughout my healing journey is that you cannot think your way out of dis-ease.

❤️You have probably heard me refer to myself as a body-centered coach and that’s because I believe that the process of Owning Your Self begins with your body. And, what does #FierceOver50 mean? It means that we have chosen to commit to healing ourselves.

Here is a list of what I think are the key stops along this journey to owning our selves. And over the next month or so, I’ll be blogging about what each one means to me and how we can engage with its practices.

Women always ask me, “AnnMerle, so how do you do these mysterious practices?” First, not so mysterious, but often not what we’ve been doing for the last 50 years 🤯 . And second, stay tuned!

Love and Gratitude,

AnnMerle
