Hello Dear Ones:

In this video, I invite you to take your eyeglasses off and look into the distance. And, even if you don’t wear eyeglasses, you too need to look into the distance.

Why? We spend too much time focused intently on a small area in front of our eyes on computer screens. This is like keeping our arms at our sides and never lifting them.

Our Eyes and Our Brain

Norman Doidge, M.D., in The Brain’s Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of Neuroplasticity (2016, Penguin Books), tells us,

The eyes have the power to turn brain plasticity on and off. In fact, as recent study shows that in the visual system, neuroplastic change begins not in the brain but in the eyes. (223)

This is such simple wisdom. With no props or expensive therapies, we can do so much to support our vision and our brain health.

Give this a try and tell me what you feel and what you discover!

Love and Gratitude,

AnnMerle
